Require a Dedicated Team

Not-for-profit organizations operate in a complex environment of accounting rules, governmental regulations and reputational risks.

We understand those challenges and use our extensive audit experience and proactive, informative approach to help minimize record-keeping and reporting burdens. For all types of nonprofits—associations, trade and professional societies, colleges and universities, charities, foundations, churches, schools, and research and scientific organizations—our team of professionals works with you to simplify and streamline procedures and keep you in compliance.

Our dedicated team of partners, senior auditors and staff auditors understands exempt organization reporting requirements and can assist with Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Form 990 and 990-T filings for nonprofits. We can also help develop or refine conflict of interest, whistleblower, and document retention and destruction policies.

403(b) Plan Audits

We Audit with Dedication to Quality

From an auditing perspective, 403(b) plans are unique, because the audit requirement was not around when the plans were created. In 2009 and 2010, 403(b) plan sponsors, with assistance from their auditors and other plan providers, had to account for all plan assets, often spread among numerous individual annuity contracts with numerous custodians. We have years of experience helping clients account for 403(b) assets because we’ve been auditing these plans since the Form 5500 regulations were implemented in 2009.

We understand the intricacies of auditing 403(b) plans and how they differ from their cousin the 401(k) plan, including unique participant testing, contribution rules, document requirements, calculations, and exchange and transfer restrictions.

Above all, we understand that auditing and filing requirements are still relatively new to plan sponsors, so we provide proactive advice and take a hands-on approach that helps prevent problems from occurring. We audit 403(b) plans with the same dedication to quality, highly knowledgeable teams, and extensive resources that we offer to all our clients.
