What Makes Us Different

We have a “no stuffed shirts” policy at Lindquist—at least that’s what our employees tell us. When we ask them to describe the culture here, the words they use most often are collaborative, friendly, courteous and helpful. Can you picture yourself working at a place like that? If so, we’d love to hear from you.

Valuing Our Employees

At Lindquist, we emphasize what we can do for each other. As an employee, you bring qualities and expertise that help our firm succeed. We reciprocate with training, opportunities for advancement, rewarding assignments, access to clients and senior management, and more—all things that help you succeed in your career.

Lindquist is a people-centric firm with an open-door policy where everyone from part-time administrative employee to partner is on a first-name basis, and where we value and recognize everyone’s contribution to our success. Easy to say, harder to do; yet our staff says we really do walk the talk.

We offer excellent benefits and perks for a company of any size, and we do our best to meet both the personal and professional needs of our employees. We invest in the employer/employee relationship and try to make the experience of working for us as rewarding as it can be. We value input from our staff and are open to suggestions on decisions as trivial as snacks or as crucial as new technology and organizational practices.

The Three P's

Our culture can also be described by the three P’s—professional, progressive and personable. We are professional in appearance and quality of work, and especially in our client relationships. We’re progressive when it comes to technology and benefits to our employees. And we’re personable in our approach to clients, employees and vendors. Basically, we treat people the way we’d like to be treated, and we believe that’s been a key to our growth and success for more than 40 years.

Giving Back

Our business and employees are important members of the communities in which we work, and we strongly believe in giving back to those communities. That’s why we have a formal, ongoing volunteer program called Building Strong Communities that encourages employees to volunteer eight hours of service for a nonprofit of their choice every year. We also contribute as a firm to various charitable causes, and participate as a group at events in our communities.

We make it a point to support our clients and the organizations and causes they feel make a positive difference. Among the many organizations we support through sponsorships and contributions are the Teamsters Assistance Program, Puget Sound Sage, Thomas A. Morton Memorial Scholarship Foundation, Episcopal Senior Communities Foundation, Michael J. Day Memorial Guide Dogs Tournament, and Contra Costa Family Community Fund.

Events

There’s a time to work and a time to play, and we do both at Lindquist. We enjoy each other’s company at many firm-sponsored events, including end-of-busy-season parties, family tailgating at games, Halloween potluck and costume contest, Thanksgiving potluck, and our formal holiday party with spouses and guests at Blackhawk Country Club in Danville, California. And then there are the monthly birthday cakes, bagels on Fridays, baby gifts for newborns, ice cream socials and many other “employee appreciation” activities.

We have quarterly events for our staff, close early before long holiday weekends, and plan special events throughout the year to celebrate achievements and get to know our colleagues better. We try to make sure you always have something fun to look forward to—besides busy season.

Building Your Career

We encourage our staff to see working at Lindquist as a career, not just a job. We want our staff to grow personally and professionally through new experiences and added expertise, which we encourage and support through company-sponsored training and development opportunities.

Because we’re a niche-market CPA firm, once you begin your future with us, you’ll receive professional, hands-on training directly from our senior staff members and partners. We offer both in-house training programs and access to outside resources, such as Toastmasters and Becker. Another example: To better prepare several of our new partners for a leadership role, we recently enrolled them in a rigorous professional development program used by executives at leading high-tech companies.

We Invest

Unlike the bigger firms where it takes years to build important relationships that will affect your entire career, we immediately invest in your future by providing you with a unique vantage point and real-world access to a wide array of clients and their specific challenges. You will have many opportunities to observe the entire audit process, from start to finish, and begin building long-term relationships with our clients, partners and other senior team members.

The Right Fit

If you’re looking to join a successful accounting firm where you can enjoy your colleagues and clients, progress in your career, add to your personal and professional skills, and look forward to coming to work every day, Lindquist may be just right for you—unless you’re a stuffed shirt.

We look forward to hearing from you!
