We attend more than a dozen career fairs every year—see this year’s list below—and we look forward to meeting you at one of them! Here are answers to questions we commonly get about career fairs.

Q: What goes on at a Career Fair? How should I prepare?

A: Career fairs are a chance for students and alumni to meet a large group of companies and talk with representatives from a company’s Human Resources department and with employees about the company and potential career opportunities.

Before attending a fair, you should look over the list of companies attending and the description of what each does. Note which companies are of interest to you, then go to each company’s website to get a better understanding of the company and help develop questions you want to ask representatives.

Be sure you bring updated resumes and come dressed as you would for a business meeting.

Q: What types of positions are available at Lindquist?

A: The positions we typically expect to fill at career fairs and onsite campus interviews are Certified Staff Auditor and Payroll Compliance Staff Auditor. If experienced alumni attend the fair or use the college career center, we will of course consider them for the position for which they qualify. We always consider qualified candidates for management positions.

Q: What qualifications do you expect applicants to have?

A: Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Arts or higher degree (or be on schedule to have it by the time you start with our company). You should have good communication and computer skills and a positive work ethic. Certified Staff Auditor applicants should also have the required hours needed to sit for the CPA exam.

Q: Is attending a Career Fair the best way for a recent graduate to get an interview at Lindquist? What are other ways?

A: It’s a very good way. If we don’t visit your campus or you miss the Career Fair, other ways include campus interviews arranged through your career counseling office, submitting your resume through our website or via email at careers@lindquistcpa.com or submitting a hard copy of your resume to the attention of Human Resources in our San Ramon office.
