Form 5500 Signing Tip: Log into EFAST2
March 10, 2011
In preparation for a Form 5500 signing ceremony, authorized signers of Form 5500 should log into EFAST2 to verify their account status.
According to the Department of Labor (DOL) IFILE User's Guide, the password for a signer's EFAST2 credentials expires after 90 days of non-consecutive use. While this is no major cause for concern, an expired password could delay the signing process. As such, authorized signers, particularly those who obtained their credentials more than 90 days ago, should log into EFAST2 to verify their account status shortly before signing a Form 5500. The system will notify the signer if his or her password has expired and prompt the signer to select a new one.
Likewise, if an authorized signer has misplaced his/her password or user ID, both can be retrieved from the "Login" screen at www.efast.dol.gov. An authorized signer can retrieve the PIN required for signing from the "Profile" menu after logging in.
